Main gate operation

Today, someone drove either a car or boat trailer into the gate latch mechanism on the south side of the tunnel entrance. The metalwork was bent out of shape and a system trigger switch broken.
Until full repairs can be carried out the gate can only be held open using the mechanical clamp and yes you will have to get out of your car to close the gate. The night clamp does operate correctly.
Repairs will be carried out as soon as possible. If anyone recalls a scraping sound as they drove in today, please let me know.

Ian - I left the club at 12:30ish yesterday and all was working at that point.

I left (by bike) at about 6pm last night and it was hooked open on the manual ground hook so I closed it by hand. Out of curiosity, I tried putting the lock hold code into the keypad and it didn't work.

As I stated in my original message, the gate system is damaged, the electrical “hold open” feature is non operational therefore the mechanical clamp has to be temporarily used. It is good practice to close the gate after entry and exit on non race days especially in view of the recent thefts. Repairs will be made as soon as possible.

I was at the Club until 6pm last night - and the gate was fine, I was with Sarah and Steve Pete. Went out and the gate went back on to the magnet.

The gate is fixed and can be used in automatic mode as of now.
