Race Officer Duty was created by ralph wogan

I took on the role of raceofficer on Sunday I was assisted by Dave Parryand Tony Blackmore. When I arrived at the clubI became a liittle aprehensive the weather was not great there wasa very gusty breezefrom the west, always difficult to set a decent course with wind from
that direction and keep a watch out for capsized boats.
What made our task a loteasier were the crews of both the rescue boats, they arrived at the
club in good time and were able to lay the 7 course marks
whichenabling the racing tostart on time, throughout the racing without being prompted they
attended to capsized boats of which there were many
whenthe racing finished they quickly collected all !!! the marks.I am not sure of rescueboats crews names but well done to them all.Ralph RS 400 1238

Thanks Ralph, thanks the rescue crews, and thanks for setting a reach which could be sailed on the spinnaker for an asymmetric! I enjoyed the day despite the gusts!
